Norma Ruth Husky

Norma Ruth Husky passed away peacefully on July 28, 2026, at the age of 99, just a few months shy of her 100th birthday. Ruth was born on November 9, 1926, in Camden, New Jersey.

Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved husband of many years, Robert F. Husky. Together they shared a wonderful life built around their love of bicycling. They proudly owned and operated Husky's Bicycle Shop, where they enjoyed helping others discover the joy of cycling. Beyond the shop, Ruth and Robert were avid cyclists who belonged to a cycling club and traveled throughout the country together, making lifelong friendships and cherished memories along the way.

Those who knew Ruth will remember her as a truly kind, compassionate, and caring woman. She possessed a gentle spirit, a warm heart, and a quiet grace that made everyone around her feel welcome and valued.

Ruth is survived by her daughter, LaDeana Young, and her husband, Leo Young; her grandchildren, Anthony Young, Dina Young Conner, and Lindsay Young; Betty and Terry Husky; and many dear friends whose lives were enriched by her friendship. The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to Eileen Wheeler for the extraordinary care, kindness, and friendship she gave Ruth.

Family and friends are invited to honor and celebrate Ruth's life on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Sun City Center Funeral Home, 1851 Rickenbacker Drive, Sun City Center, Florida. Viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., followed by the funeral service from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Coffee and cookies will be served during a time of visitation immediately following the service from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

A committal service will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida, where Ruth will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Robert.

Ruth's warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
