Peter Aluotto

Peter Aluotto, 74, of Sun City Center passed away June 30, 2026 at Southshore Hospital. He was born in Hoboken, New Jersey but spent most of his childhood in Colonia, New Jersey.

He recevied a bachelor's degree in government from Seton Hall University, South Orange, New Jersey and  masters degrees in Urban Planning and Public Administration from the University of Southern California. His first job was with the City of Tampa and that was the beginning of a career that included management positions with Hillsborough County, the State of New Jersey, the city of Daytona Beach, Escambia County, and Charles County, MD. Still, it was the Tampa Bay area that became home. Upon retirement, he and his wife Elena, whome he met at Seton Hall, moved to Sun City Center.

Pete was an outgoing person who loved a good joke and made friends easily. In fact, he maintained many of those friendships for over 50 years. Pete loved to sing, cook, do home renovations, and work in the garden. He was always volunteering in his community, most recently as president of his neighborhood property owners' association. He and Elena were also members of the Audubon Club and the Apple Users Group. Last year they went on a wonderful tour of Italy to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Pete was a big personality, loved by many, and his absence will leave a very quiet space that can never truly be filled. As evidence of his generosity, Pete chose to be an organ donor and was recognized with an Honor Walk by Lifelink.

Pete was predeceased by his parents, Mario and Columbia Aluotto. He is survived by his wife, Elena and their daughters, Marianne and Pamela.

A Mass at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Sun City Center is scheduled for Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at 10:00 am. Live streaming will be available for those who cannot attend in person.  

A Celebration of Life will take place in September.  Details will be provided as they become available.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
