In Loving Memory
Yolanda
October 25, 1949 — July 14, 2026
Yolanda Nubla Atkinson, born on October 25, 1949, in the vibrant Philippines, peacefully departed this world on July 14, 2026, at the age of 76. She passed away at the hospital due to heart failure, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and cherished memories.
Yolanda was the beloved daughter of the late Servillano and Felisa Nubla. Her early years in the Philippines were graced with the companionship of her sister, Nene Nubla, who predeceased her. As a young woman, Yolanda embarked on a journey that would take her across the world, ultimately finding a fulfilling career as a food service worker at Sullivans Middle School on a military base installation in Yokosuka, Japan. Her dedication and enthusiasm for her work were noted by colleagues and students alike, and she left an indelible mark on the community she served.
On April 4, 2000, Yolanda married the love of her life, Karl Atkinson, with whom she shared 27 beautiful years. Together, they built a family filled with laughter and love. Yolanda is survived by her devoted husband Karl, and her children Jennfer Guevara, Jean Yuson, Jasmine Perez, and Nigel Atkinson, who will forever carry her spirit in their hearts. Her memory also lives on through her nine adoring grandchildren, who were her pride and joy.
Yolanda's life was a testament to the beauty of simple pleasures. She found immense joy in gardening, her hands nurturing life in the soil, much like she nurtured her family with love and care. Her craftwork was admired by all, each piece a reflection of her creativity and meticulous attention to detail. Yolanda possessed a unique ability to brighten everyone's day, her presence a beacon of joy and light that radiated to all around her.
Though she is no longer with us, Yolanda's spirit endures in the love she sowed and the lives she touched. Her family finds solace in the thought that she is now reunited with her parents, sister, and her son, Joseph Yuson, who predeceased her.
A celebration of Yolanda's life will be held on July 28, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Sun City Center Funeral Home, located at 1851 Rickenbacker Dr, Sun City Center, FL 33573. Family and friends are invited to honor her memory and share in the joy she brought to the world.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Yolanda's memory to a charity of your choice. As we remember Yolanda, let us carry forward her legacy of love, kindness, and the enduring glow of her joyful spirit.
