Judith Gail Langdon

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved sister Judith (Judy) Langdon. Judy was born January 2, 1956, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, died April 19, 2026, in Oregon City, Oregon

Judy was the second of four girls born to James Henry & Betty Jean Langdon. At the age of 1 her family moved from Alberta, Canada to Washington State. At the age of 15 her family moved to Hermiston, Oregon, and Judy lived the remainder of her life in Oregon. She attended schools in Pasco, WA and Hermiston, OR and received three associate degrees from Blue Mountain Community College. She worked most of her life and retired from the State of Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission (formerly the Oregon Liquor Control Commission) after working there for over 34 years. Judy remained active with AFSCME (American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees) Union Retirees and was the president of her local chapter at the time of her death.

Judy was an avid lover of dogs, all things Canadian, the Oregon Coast, the Oregon Country Fair and Broadway musicals. She was a hippie at heart and loved her tie dyes. She was fiercely independent, had a fierce sense of justice and stood up for what she thought was right. Judy never married or had children of her own. She was a wonderful aunt to her nieces and nephews.

Even after her cancer diagnosis in March 2026, she still had plans for many adventures, and was planning on traveling to Canada, Virginia, Hawaii and New York in the near future.

Judy is survived by her three sisters: Linda Monroe, Hermiston, OR, Salli Ketchersid (Quentin), Hermiston, OR and Melissa Dillon (William), Maltby, WA, Step-Mother Phyllis Langdon, Nephews: Dustin Ketchersid, Darren Gibson, Jamison Dillon and Kyle Ketchersid, Nieces: Dawn Long, Keishi Norman, Samantha Long and Lucy Nelson, as well as many loved friends, many Canadian cousins, former co-workers, AFSCME union members and Country Fair folks as well as close friends, Kash Sawyer, Suzanne Hulett and Tracy Hulett.

Judy was preceded in death by: Mother Betty Langdon, Father James Langdon, brother-in-law Michael Monroe, nephew Jason Monroe, nephew Gene Long and niece Amber Ketchersid.

At Judy’s request, there will be no funeral service. Her family will be gathering in Hermiston in May. Her friends and former co-workers in the Portland area plan to have a gathering or two and Judy requested that everyone wear tie dye.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or to a charity that works for the protection and sustainability of the earth.

Arrangements are being made by Sunnyside Funeral, Cremation and Memorial Gardens.
