Andrew K. Leach III

Andrew Kirk Leach III, 96, of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2026, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of love, service, hard work, and a life well lived.

A devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and generous friend, Andrew lived his 96 years with purpose, determination, and an enduring enthusiasm for life.

He attended Colgate University and Columbia University before serving his country in the United States Air Force and later attaining the rank of First Lieutenant in the United States Army.

Andrew began his professional career in television media sales, eventually becoming the owner of an advertising agency. His entrepreneurial spirit, strong work ethic, and ability to connect with people were hallmarks of his professional life.

But Andrew's interests and contributions extended far beyond his career. Throughout his life, he wore many hats, including lifeguard, hospital volunteer, and a PGA Tour tournament director. Each role reflected his willingness to get involved, take on new challenges, and contribute to the communities around him.

An enthusiastic golfer and talented drummer, Andrew also discovered a passion for skiing later in life, proving that adventure and the pursuit of new experiences need not have an age limit. Whether on the golf course, behind a drum set, or on the ski slopes, he embraced the activities he loved with enthusiasm.

Above all, Andrew was a family man. Hardworking and generous, he was a devoted and loving husband and father whose greatest legacy lives on in the family he cherished.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara; his sons, Andy (Lindsay) Leach and Greg Leach; and his six grandchildren, Allison, Andrew, Nick, Wyatt, Ava and Ella, his sister-in-law Lissa Anderson and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Goodman, his brother-in-law Richard Anderson and his daughter-in-law, Michelle Leach.

Andrew Kirk Leach III lived a long, full, and meaningful life. He will be remembered for his generosity, his devotion to family, his many accomplishments, and the example he set for those fortunate enough to know and love him.

A memorial service celebrating Andrew's life will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., at First Presbyterian Church, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made in Andrew's memory to First Presbyterian Church of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, or Samaritan's Purse.
