Carolyn Lee (Walbrecher) Harrison

Carolyn Lee (Walbrecher) Harrison, 84, died peacefully on Sunday, August 16, 2026. She was born February 14, 1942, in Baltimore, Maryland, to Lois and William Walbrecher. Carolyn lived most of her adult life in Bryan, Ohio, where she made a lasting impact through her family, faith, and service to others.

Carolyn attended nursing school at the University of Maryland and began her career as a nurse before dedicating herself to raising her family. Later in life, she continued her commitment to helping others through her work as an advocate for Sarah’s House in Bryan and as a Juvenile Probation Officer.

Her faith was an important part of Carolyn’s life. She was a devoted member of The First Presbyterian Church in Bryan, serving first as a Deacon and later as an Elder. She also gave her time as a hospice volunteer and was involved in the Mahjong Club, Bryan Civic League, and Claire Newcomer Club.

In her younger years, Carolyn was an avid tennis player. She enjoyed being surrounded by friends and especially cherished time spent walking on the beach during family visits to Hilton Head, South Carolina. Above all else, family was the most important part of Carolyn’s life, alongside her deep and abiding relationship with God.

Carolyn is survived by her brother, William Calvert Walbrecher, sister-in-law, Doreen Walbrecher and niece, Amy Kern of California; her two daughters, Julie Harrison and Jennifer (Harrison) Winzeler; and her three grandchildren, William “Owen” Winzeler, Cameron “Jules” Winzeler, and Ruby Grace Winzeler.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lois and William Walbrecher; her cousin, Valerie Surprenant; and her nephew, Eric Walbrecher.

A celebration of Carolyn’s life will be held at The First Presbyterian Church, 506 Oxford Drive, Bryan, Ohio 43506 on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend and celebrate a life defined by faith, family, service, friendship, and love.
