Dr. Timothy Francis Parsons Sr.

Sep 27, 1938 — Sep 9, 2026

Dr. Timothy Francis Parsons Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and esteemed community member, passed away peacefully at home on September 9, 2026, at the age of 87. Born on September 27, 1938, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Tim lived a life rich in love, achievement, and service, touching the hearts of all who knew him.

A dedicated scholar, Tim earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Boston College (1960) and a PhD in Chemistry from Vanderbilt University (1964). His intellectual curiosity and passion for his field led him to a distinguished career at the Eastman Kodak Company, where he excelled in technical and manufacturing leadership roles. His colleagues remember him for his integrity, sharp mind, and the genuine care he showed for those he worked with.

Tim shared 60 wonderful years with his first wife, Rosalie, whom he married on September 10, 1960. Together, they raised five children, creating a warm and loving home filled with laughter and learning. After Rosalie's passing, Tim was blessed to find love again with Linda, with whom he shared four precious years of marriage. He is survived by Linda, his children Timothy Jr. (Eve), Teresa (Patrick) Burke, Tammara (Scott) Ruflin, Stephen (Ann), and Michael (Alicia), as well as 20 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to his life.

A devout Catholic, Tim was a cherished member of his faith communities at St. Leo the Great in Hilton, NY; St. Mark's in Greece, NY; and St. Francis of the Sea on Hilton Head Island, SC. His spirituality was a guiding force in his life, and he dedicated himself to serving others through various community service organizations. As a member of the Knights of Columbus in both NY and SC, and an active participant in the Hilton and Monroe County School Boards, Tim's contributions left a lasting impact on his community.

Tim was known for his zest for life, quick wit, and steady presence. He led by example, embodying the qualities of a devoted husband and steadfast father, always guided by devotion to his Christian faith. His spirit was a beacon of strength and kindness, inspiring those around him to live with purpose and joy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 24, 2026 at St. Francis by the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Hilton Head Island, at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of the Low Country (mirasolhealth.org/donate), reflecting Tim's deep commitment to service and helping others in need.

While his passing leaves a profound void, Tim's legacy of love, leadership, and laughter will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and the countless lives he touched.
