Pamela Faye Watkins Pearson
May 8, 1949 — Oct 10, 2026
Pamela Faye Watkins Pearson passed away, surrounded by family, after a lengthy illness on October 10, 2026.
Pam was born on May 8, 1949, in Bay City, Texas, to Gifford and Shirley Ball Watkins. She spent her childhood in New Gulf, Texas, where she enjoyed a carefree life riding through the neighborhood on her beloved blue bicycle. After her family relocated to Beaumont, Texas, and later to Wadsworth, Texas, she was graduated from Bay City High School in 1967.
Known for her exceptional singing voice, Pam was active in numerous musical productions and earned Best Actress honors at both district and regional competitions. She continued her education at the University of Texas at Austin before transferring to the University of Houston, where she earned a degree in Radio and Television.
After graduating, Pam remained in Houston and built a successful career in sales. Her entrepreneurial spirit and keen business sense led her to open a showroom at the Dallas Trade Mart, where she continued to pursue her professional interests with energy and determination. She later became an accomplished Realtor in Princeton, New Jersey.
Her life took a wonderful turn when she fell in love with a South Carolina native, William "Bill" Pearson. They were married in December 1978 and began building a beautiful life together in Kingwood, Texas. They later lived in New Jersey, Texas, and South Carolina.
Born on Mother's Day, Pam seemed destined for the role she would treasure most - being a mother. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to raising Claire, Austin, and Alexander, her three "angel babies," who were the center of her world. She embraced every joy and challenge of motherhood with grace, patience, and unconditional love. Nothing made her prouder than watching them grow into spirited adults and accomplished professionals.
Pam also dreamed of becoming a grandmother. Although her illness prevented her from truly knowing Penelope, Sloane, Lily, and a grandson who will be born this fall, her love for them was already deep, and her family will ensure they always know how much she cherished them.
Pam was a proud and strong Texas woman who loved gardening, country and gospel music, fresh seafood, and all things Texan. She will be remembered for her warm and welcoming spirit, her beautiful singing voice, her legendary shopping skills, her exceptional margaritas, and the joy she brought to everyone around her.
Pam was a devoted member of the United Methodist Church in Kingwood, Texas and Princeton, New Jersey. While in Princeton, Pam taught Sunday School to ensure their children received a strong religious education.
Pam is survived by her husband of 47 years, William C. Pearson III; her daughter, Claire Pearson (Robert Greene); her sons, Austin Pearson (Chelsea), and Alexander Pearson (Sarah Steiner); and her grandchildren, Penelope Pearson, Sloane Greene, and Lily Pearson; her brother, Douglas Watkins (Judy); her sister, Eleene Carr (Mike); sister-in-law, Selwyn Turner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents, William and Laura Ball and Berry and Willie Mae Watkins.
Pam will be deeply missed by those who loved her, but her spirit will live on in the family she cherished, the lives she touched, and the countless memories that will bring smiles even through the tears. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will never fade.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association in Pam’s memory, in the hope that greater awareness, research, and support will help other families affected by this disease.
Pam will be laid to rest at Beaufort National Cemetery, following a memorial service on November 6, 2026, at 12 noon at St Andrew by the Sea United Methodist Church on Hilton Head Island, SC.
