Paul Dieter Schulz

Paul Dieter Schulz died peacefully on September 21, 2026. He was 82.

Paul was born on February 1, 1944 in Huettenbusch, Germany to his parents Diedrich and Adele Schulz. He graduated from Valparaiso University with a B.S. in Business in 1966 and later earned his M.B.A from The University of Akron. He had a 33 year career in Human Resources with Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in various locations in the United States, Canada, and Europe, followed by 4 years at OM Group in Cleveland, OH.

Paul was a loving husband and father and had many friends that remember him as kind, thoughtful, and optimistic about anything and everything. Paul was an avid golfer who only played on days that end in “y”.

Paul is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara of Hilton Head, SC; his sister Erika (Bill) Eckel of Winston-Salem, NC; his sons Andrew (Melissa) of Bluffton, SC and Eric (Amy) of Spartanburg, SC; and grandchildren Adam of Athens, OH, Emily of Spartanburg, SC, and Evan of Columbus, OH.

A memorial service will be held at 1 pm at Island Lutheran Church, 4400 Main St., Hilton Head Island, SC 29926 on October 9, 2026.
