Dale R. McCall

December 28, 1932 — April 18, 2026

Dale was born in 1932 in La Verne, CA. His parents moved the family to Santa Ana, and on Easter Sunday, 1936, they went to Calvary Church for the first of many times. Jesus became his Lord and Savior through Vacation Bible School one summer during his childhood. After graduating from Santa Ana High School in 1951, Dale joined the Army. He spent his last Army year in Occupied Korea and at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL. before coming home in 1955. He loved roller-skating and spent most of his free time at the Santa Ana Skate Ranch (where the Discovery Center is today). In 1956, he met 15 year old, Kathie. They dated for 2 years, getting married in 1958.

Over the years, Dale served as Head Usher for 8 years and volunteered in the Tape Ministry through the 80’s and 90’s. He also helped with church construction projects throughout the years.

They moved to the City of Orange in 1968 and raised three daughters, dedicating them to the Lord as they were born in 1964, 1967 and 1970.

Dale was a truck driver for 30 years and then owned a small engine repair shop for 5 years before he retired. He’s always had a love for classic cars and has often been seen behind the wheel of his completely restored, 1930 Ford Model A Sedan which he proudly displays whenever he had the opportunity.

He loved his family dearly, carrying around many pictures of his grandchildren, bringing them out to anyone who was around. He loved to recall stories of his childhood, days in the military and good times with family and friends.
