James Michael Sunseri
Sep 11, 1945 — Jul 8, 2026
James “JIM” Michael Sunseri, 80 yrs old, of Huntington Beach California passed away
peacefully on the morning of July 8, 2026.
Jim was born on September 11, 1945, in Holley NY. Son of James and Marguerite Sunseri
(1969, 2006), he is survived by his sisters, Judy Sunseri Kraeger (husband Charlie),
and Mary Sunseri King (Roger 2017). He was loved dearly by his nieces Jennifer, Allison,
Krista, Amanda, and nephew Andrew. He was also blessed by 6 grandnephews and 3
grandnieces. Waiting for him is his beloved Karen Sunseri who passed in June 2011.
Jim was a man filled with compassion and lived in services to others. As a Graduate of the
Syracuse University School of Law in 1975, he dedicated his professional career to helping
all those in need. He never turned away someone who asked for his help, even if it meant a
handshake or a good deed from them was all they could afford. His 50 years of practicing
law in California was unique in its nature and will be missed from the community he loved.
His love for the ocean and sunshine called him to the west coast in the late 1970’s, settling
in Huntington Beach. It was there he met Karen, who worked alongside him until she
passed. They were a dynamic team. Together, they were active members of the Huntington
Beach Masonic lodge. During his years of commitment and service, he rose to the highest
rank of the 33rd degree within York Rite Masonry. Jim was a proud member and felt his
involvement with the Masons was part of his calling to serve others.
Services will be held Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 11 AM, at The Good Shepherd Cemetery
8301 Talbert Ave, Huntington Beach, CA
