Sidney "Sid" Steele passed away peacefully at Palisades Assisted Living Center at the age of 95. Sid was born in Boise City, Oklahoma on February 17, 1916 to Thomas Cullen and Verneta Steele. He graduated from Temple High School in Temple, Oklahoma and went to college at Oklahoma A&M College in Stillwater, Oklahoma.He joined the U.S. Army in 1941 serving his country in World War II thru 1945, then stayed in Europe as a U.S. Government citizen where he met his bride, Ilse Dorethea Nowak.In 1950, he received a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of New Mexico. He then worked for the U.S. Air Force for 27 ½ years as a Budget Analyst. He avidly followed his favorite professional football team, The Atlanta Falcons and was passionate about Little League Baseball which he coached for 10 years in California.He is survived by his wife, Ilse Dorothea Steele (Colorado Springs, Colorado); two sons, Stanley K. Steele and wife Josephina Thea Steele (Colorado Springs, Colorado) and James D. Steele (Albuquerque, New Mexico); granddaughter, Yvette Steele-Smith and her husband Dusty Smith; and grandsons, Brett and Grant (Colorado Springs, Colorado)Cremation has taken place.
