Christine Ortman
Jul 15, 1955 — Sep 25, 2026
Christine Ortman (Bogren), beloved daughter, wife, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully in her home on September 25, 2026, at the age of 71, surrounded by her daughter, Erin, and her son-in-law, Robert Martinez. Christine was born on July 15, 1955, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to Donald and Edna Bogren. She was the youngest of their four children and the only girl, growing up with her three brothers, Eric, Tim, and Rod. Her brothers protected her, teased her, and helped shape the fun-loving, strong, and spirited woman she became Christine had a lifelong love of music. She was a talented singer and artist who found joy in expressing herself creatively. She taught herself to play the guitar at a young age. While pregnant with Erin, Christine decided that her growing belly made it too difficult to play the guitar, so she taught herself to play the mandolin instead. It was a perfect example of Christine’s determination, creativity, and wonderful sense of humor. She enjoyed going to bluegrass festivals. Christine met her husband, Michael Ortman, and they were married on November 5, 1977. Together they built a life filled with love, family, and adventure. Christine and Michael loved the Colorado mountains and took frequent trips there together, enjoying skiing and relaxing in the hot springs. They shared a love of the outdoors and the Denver Broncos. After becoming a mother, Christine went to nursing school and became a registered nurse. She worked at Memorial Hospital and later with Nurse Finders, providing home healthcare and caring for others with compassion and dedication. Christine was a wonderful and devoted mother who knew how to make even the simplest moments magical. Erin remembers playing on the living room floor with her mom. She also frequently took Erin on picnics in the park, creating memories that Erin would carry with her throughout her life. She had a deep love for animals, a love she passed down to Erin. Christine was a goofball at heart and had a wonderful sense of humor. She brought light into every room she walked into and had a way of making people smile and feel at ease. She found joy in playing, singing, creating, laughing, exploring, and making memories with the people she loved. Above all, Christine’s greatest joy was being a mom. She gave Erin not only her love, but also her imagination, her compassion, her love of animals, her love of music and art, and countless memories of laughter and togetherness. Christine will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her light, her laughter, her music, her creativity, her adventurous spirit, and the love she gave so freely will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Funeral Services rosary will be held at 9:15 a.m., followed by Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. A luncheon will follow the Mass. Burial services will then be held for Christine and her beloved husband, Michael, together on Monday, November 2nd.
