Cortez LeMont Mason Jr.

February 5, 2007 — April 26, 2026

Cortez LeMont Mason, Jr. “CJ”, 19, of Colorado Springs, passed away far too soon on April 26, 2026. CJ was born on Feb. 5, 2007 in Bossier City, LA to Brandi Marie Howell and Cortez LeMont Mason, Sr. From the moment he was born, CJ was a beacon of light; always smiling and always shining. His smile was one that will never be forgotten.

CJ was everyone’s friend. People gravitated to him; everyone loved CJ. He had a quiet, shy side but was also considered “the life of the party!” CJ loved hard and he always had your back when you needed him. He was loyal to his friends and family and he was a momma’s boy through & through. CJ was a kind, respectful, and caring young man. He loved coffee, sweets, Dr. Pepper, Fortnite, his tattoos, and being a trendsetter.

You didn't have to spend very much time around CJ to know who he looked up to the most in life; who his HERO was. Connor, the bond between brothers is one that can never truly be broken, even in death. It is built on shared childhood memories, laughter, lessons, teasing, protection, and a love that runs deeper than words can express. One favorite memory is of Connor and CJ spending countless hours practicing and perfecting their BACK FLIPS. Always there for each other, to lift each other up when they would fail; always there to pick each other up when they would fall. Little brother still has your back, Connormans.

Mini Momma Jaide! From the moment CJ was born, he was Jaide’s baby. Jaide watched every move he made; his protector and his boss, Jaide made sure CJ was learning all of life’s lessons. She also made sure he was always prepared and ready to face any challenge; of course with her walking a little ahead of him to face the challenge first.

The bond between these two remained through CJ’s life; growing stronger day by day. This bond can never be broken, not even in death.

Although our hearts are heavy, we will continue to hold on to the beautiful memories he gave us. One of CJ’s favorite sayings was "Life ain’t easy, but every day is a blessing." CJ, you gave us 19 years full of blessing’s; 19 years that will forever be cherished… Forever 19!
