August 11, 1967 – May 5, 2026

Kathy Lynn West, a lifelong native of Colorado Springs, passed away on May 5, 2026, at the age of 58.

Born and raised in Colorado Springs, Kathy carried a deep love for her hometown throughout her life. She was a devoted Christian of the Baptist faith whose love for God was reflected in the way she cared for and loved those around her.

Kathy was known for her caring heart, her strength, and the deep love she had for her family. She treasured time spent with her children and grandchildren more than anything. She also had a creative spirit and found joy in sculpting babies, collecting antiques, and listening to music.

She is survived by her loving partner, Franklin Macklin.

She is also survived by her children:

    Travis Lavely (Shannon Spraggins),

    Rachel Schnell (Michael Beebe),

    Heather Lappen (Brian Lappen), and

    Mallory Gonzalez (Ryan Gonzalez).

Kathy leaves behind her beloved grandchildren:

   Sophia Schnell, Timothy Bishop, Hunter Bishop, Gaige Lappen, and Jaxson Beebe.

She is also survived by her siblings:

    Daniel “Danny” Lavely (Robbi Lavely),

    Kristin Uilenberg,

    Brian Lavely, and

    Sean Lavely (Alisa Lavely).

Kathy also leaves behind many loved nieces and nephews, including:

    April Lavely Robinson, Brittany Dean, Cady Rosales, Nicole Kesler, Zachary Uilenberg, Taylor Uilenberg, Aidon Gottschalk, Chad Lavely, Nina Lavely, and River Lavely.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Lavely and Linda Gregor.

Kathy will be remembered for her faith, her creativity, her love for family, and the kindness she gave so freely to those around her. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
