Margaret Rose Enyeart
Mar 15, 1940 — Sep 4, 2026
Margaret Rose Dornbach, affectionately known as Rose, passed away on September 4, 2026, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Rose was born and raised in Breckenridge, Colorado, where her family, the Enyearts, had deep roots in the community. She remained proud of her family's history and her mountain-town upbringing throughout her life. After attending Colorado State Teachers College (now the University of Northern Colorado), Rose began a lifelong commitment to education and community service. She lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, for many years, where she raised her family, earned a master's degree in special education, and became actively involved in the women's rights movement through the National Organization for Women. Returning to Colorado in 1982, Rose continued her career in education, working with Colorado Springs School District 11 in special education, dropout prevention, and alternative education programs. She was particularly passionate about helping young people overcome challenges and discover new opportunities. In 1987, Rose married her beloved husband, Bill. Together they enjoyed traveling, sporting events, community activities, and a shared commitment to helping others. Their marriage brought her tremendous happiness and companionship. Rose was a woman of remarkable curiosity and diverse interests. She enjoyed painting, knitting, gardening, journaling, opera, theater, and travel. She was actively involved in numerous community and charitable organizations, including the Assistance League, Daughters of the Nile, Stephen Ministry, and a cherished Dream Group whose friendships spanned more than three decades. Rose will be remembered for her strong convictions, independent spirit, intellectual curiosity, and dedication to education, service, and the causes she believed in. Her life touched many people, and her contributions to her community will be fondly remembered. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories shared with family, friends, former students, and the many people whose paths crossed hers.
