Maritza Cecelia Smith-Williams

Maritza Smith-Williams, 78 years old, passed away peacefully May 6th, 2026, at her home in Colorado Springs, CO. She was born in the country of Panama on June 10th, 1947. She is the daughter of Allan Smith Waite of Panama and Gloria Haye of Costa Rica.

Maritza professed her faith in Christ at a young age.

She retired from Centralia City Schools in Centralia, IL with over 20 years of service. Her hobbies were shopping, traveling, and spending time with her daughter. She loved to read the Bible.

The joys of her heart were her two grandsons Christian and Cameron. She loved them dearly.

Survivors include her daughter, Alicia Waithe-Cunningham and husband Dominique, grandsons Christian and Cameron Waithe-Cunningham all of Colorado Springs, CO. , sisters Alejandra V. Campbell, Consuelo E. Van Ginkel, Gabriela Henry, Nitzie Smith de Sanley, and brother Alan Smith Sousa.

Maritza was preceded in death by her father Allan Smith Waite.
