Michael Michaelis, born March 11, 1985, passed away tragically June 22nd, 2026. Michael was a devoted Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Grandfather, Grandson, Nephew, Friend, and Colleague whose kindness and generosity touched countless lives.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Octavia Michaelis; his six beautiful children; his granddaughter; his grandfather Ernest (Pop Pop) Michaelis, his Mother in law Kathy Jones and beloved Uncle Ernie and Aunt Cora. He also leaves behind many extended family members, friends, and coworkers who will forever treasure the memories they shared with him.
Michael is preceded in death by his mother Sandra Michaelis, Grandmother Patricia Michaelis and cousin Matthew Michaelis.
Michael dedicated his career to serving his community as a Traffic Maintenance Operator with the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT). He took great pride in his work and understood the importance of helping keep others safe. His willingness to lend a hand, whether at work or in his personal life, was one of the many qualities that made him so deeply loved.
Outside of work, Michael found joy in working on cars and helping others with their projects whenever he could. He had a special love for ducks and never outgrew his appreciation for Superman and the Ninja Turtles, things that brought out his playful spirit and unique personality. Those who knew him will remember his sense of humor, his big heart, and the way he could make people feel welcome and valued.
Above all else, Michael loved his family. His greatest pride and purpose in life were the people he loved. He treasured every moment spent with his wife, children, granddaughter, and family members. Whether sharing stories, offering advice, lending support, or simply spending time together, Michael made sure those around him knew how much they meant to him.
Michael’s legacy is one of love, strength, generosity, and devotion. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him and in the countless lives he touched through his kindness and compassion.
