Paul Virgil Saucerman

Mar 4, 1943 — Mar 25, 2026

Paul V. Saucerman, 83, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 25. Paul was born on March 4, 1943, in Antioch, California, to Virgil and Jennie Saucerman. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joan, and their daughters Tina Blevins (Dave) of Colorado Springs and Julie Sliskovic (Chuck) of Peoria, Arizona; grandchildren Hunter Blevins (Carollynn) and Chloe Blevins of Colorado Springs, Madison Montgomery and Trystan Montgomery of Phoenix, Arizona; and great grandchildren Alexia Blevins and Izabelle Blevins of Colorado Springs. He was preceded in death by his baby son, his parents, and his sisters, Margaret Peabody and Verlene Kraxberger.

Paul was a communication tech for AT&T Long Lines and spent the majority of his career serving NORAD inside Cheyenne Mountain. He enjoyed fishing, and playing softball on the church team, but later walking became what he really enjoyed, especially when joined by his granddaughter, Chloe. He used trekking poles to take the pressure off his joints which attracted a little attention. He made many friends while walking and that was such a joy to him. He had a twinkle in his eye from birth and had a special sense of humor, even to the end.

When Paul was 18 months old his mother passed away and she made his father promise he would take him to church. There he heard the gospel and gave his life to Christ and later met his wife. Paul’s life reflected his trust in God and his love for others. He will be remembered for his faithfulness, love of the Word of God, service in the church, kindness, humility, devotion to family, and for the quiet strength with which he lived out his beliefs each day. Those who knew Paul were blessed by his sense of humor, steady presence, his encouragement, and his example of a life grounded in Christ.

The family wants to thank Pikes Peak Hospice and their staff for their kindness and care, especially Melissa, Beth and Mary. They would also like to thank the Amada Senior Care team, and Tristan who lovingly assisted Paul and became his buddy.

A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, April 13, at 2 pm at Cross & Crown Church, located at 4455 Arrowswest Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80907.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cross & Crown Church, National Jewish Health and Pikes Peak Hospice.
