Raymond Henry Gibbons Jr (known to many as Ray), aged 70, passed away on June 9th, 2026, in Colorado Springs Colorado. Throughout his 70 years he touched many lives with his wisdom, humor and spirit.

Ray was born on February 27th, 1956, in Queens, New York, to the late Ruth (Trottier) and Raymond H. Gibbons Sr.

Ray proudly served in the US Army for 20 years. There he became an aircraft electrician working on Apache and Blackhawk helicopters and other aircraft. While in the Army Ray earned the meritorious service medal, numerous army commendation medals, and army achievement medals, amongst others. After Ray retired from the Army, Ray continued working on aircraft at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs Colorado for a variety of companies. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, hunting, shooting rifles, and being around his family and friends.

Ray is survived by his loving children Cyndelle (William) Mosley of Colorado Springs Colorado, Raymond (Christina) Gibbons III of Amarillo Texas, and one sister Christine (Stephen) Nigida of Fairfield Pennsylvania; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends.

A viewing will be held on July 8th, 2026, at Springs Funeral Home on 3115 East Platte Ave in Colorado Springs Colorado from 4-6pm. The funeral service will be held on July 9th, 2026, at Springs Funeral Home on 3115 East Platte Ave in Colorado Springs Colorado from 11-12pm with the burial at 1pm at Pikes Peak National Cemetery on 10545 Drenna Road in Colorado Springs Colorado.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Ray’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
