Ronald Dean Crouse, 84 of Colorado Springs passed away peacefully at home early
morning Wednesday July 8, 2026. Ron was born March 5, 1942 in Ft. Dodge, Iowa to Garland B. and Dorothy J. Crouse. His family moved to Colorado Springs due to his father being stationed at Ft. Carson. Ron attended and graduated from William J Palmer High School the Class of 1961. He worked many summer seasons on the summit of Pikes Peak lighting the furnaces every morning and making thousands of donuts. He received his degree from DeVry Institute in Chicago and went to work for Sears as a TV repairman. He then went to work for Ampex Corporation where he worked on projects that affect our lives everyday (eg. instant replay). He was a software engineer and research and design engineer. He was co-owner of Ro-Mar Industries. He then did contract work for Honeywell until his retirement. His work took him all around the world. He worked in Germany during the World Cup before the wall came down. He worked in Taiwan, Australia, and across the U.S.He met his wife Nancy J. (Shuck) Crouse in 1958 ( she was the girl next door). They were married in 1963. Throughout their 63 years they lived the majority of time in Colorado, but lived in California and Arizona. Ron loved both California and Arizona, but when it came time to retire they chose Colorado to be close to family.Ron enjoyed fishing, camping, golfing, woodworking, birdwatching, traveling and much more.His happiest moments was when spending time with family. He loved being a dad, grandpa, and BopBop! Ron is survived by his wife Nancy, daughter Jerri Crouse ( ILA Ayers) of Colorado Springs and son Stephen ( Gregg McCurdy) Crouse of Palm Springs, CA. 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Two sisters Jody Zawacki of New Jersey and Neaty ( Jim) Oaks of Colorado Springs and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a precious great granddaughter
