Wesley “Jack” Hagar

Wesley Jack Hagar was born in Hereford, Texas on November 22, 1937 to Carroll and Caroline Hagar and was the oldest of three. He graduated from Hereford High School and went to West Texas A&M where he graduated with a BA degree. Jack served in the ROTC and was active in the Army Reserves.

On May 29, 1965 he married the love of his life Francis Sharon Farmer. They moved to Midland, Texas where he was employed with Abbott Labs.

With love of the Colorado Mountains calling, he and his family transferred with Abbott Labs to Colorado Springs where he continued his 26 year career as a Hospital Specialist servicing regional hospitals.

Jack’s many enjoyments in life came from fishing, golfing and firearm target practice. Jack worked several Pikes Peak Hill Climbs as a service team member and was also responsible for initially coordinating the first security team at Woodmen Valley Chapel. Jack & Sharon were members of the Pikes Peak Bagpipe Band for 5 years where he played the bagpipes and she played the drums. Jack also authored several books. Two published books Jack was especially proud of were “Early” and “Early & Addie”.

Jack peacefully passed away on July 11, 2026 from complications of Parkinson’s disease and was surrounded by his wife, Sharon, and dear friends who are family. Jack loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and wanted all to know of the salvation offered through The Savior.

Jack is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Sharon, daughter Shelly, brother Roger & his wife Sue of Hedley, Texas and many dear friends.

A special thank you to friend and physician, Dr. Dan Henley for his dedicated compassionate care and friendship. A small private graveside ceremony will be held in Colorado Springs.
