Algie Watts, Jr.

With deep love, we announce the passing of Algie “Billy” Watts Jr., who left this world on August 27, 2026. Billy was born on January 7, 1948, in Columbia, South Carolina. He was the beloved son of Algie A. Watts and Ida Mae Watts. Billy lived a life full of rich experiences, including enlisting in the Navy, where he proudly served his country. After his time in the military, he became a dedicated worker at Phillips Components in Irmo.

Over the years, he became known for his strong work ethic and warm smile, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. Billy was loved by many, and his kindness touched the lives of everyone he met. His family always came first, and he took great pride in being a husband, father, brother, pops, and friend. Billy loved spending his time woodworking, camping, and being with his family. He was also a loyal fan of the Tennessee Vols.

Billy is survived by his wife of 56 wonderful years, Patricia Watts; his dog, Buddy; their son, Ronald Watts; and daughter, Dawn Welch (Chad). He also leaves behind his sisters, Sandra Finan (Paul) and Karen Anderson (Johnny), along with his grandchildren Cody, Kayla, Ashley, Marie, and Alex; great-grandchild Brynleigh; and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will take place on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 6 PM to 8 PM at Thompson Funeral Home on Leesburg Rd. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 11 AM, also at Thompson Funeral Home. After the service, there will be a burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
