Bobby Powers, 53, of Lexington, South Carolina, passed away on September 22, 2026.

Born on May 6, 1973, in Lexington, South Carolina, Bobby was the beloved son of Cathy and Roger.

Bobby loved his dog, Buddy, and cherished the time they spent together. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and, most of all, spending time with his family and friends. He treasured the simple moments in life—laughing together, sharing stories, enjoying a good game of cards, and making memories with the people he loved.

Bobby is survived by his parents, Cathy and Roger; his siblings, Missy (Ricky and Brianna), Billy (Amanda, Chance, and Chandler), and Mandy (Jay, Katelyn, Kayden, and Kamden); his aunts, Linda, Dottie, Patty, and Gina; his uncle Jimmy (Jenny) as well as numerous extended family members and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Martha, Bill, Eloise, and Ed; and his aunts, Gail and Betty.

Bobby will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His kind spirit, his love for family and friends, and the countless memories he created with those around him will forever remain in their hearts. His memory will live on in all those whose lives he touched.

Celebration of Life

Family and friends are invited to gather at Thompson Funeral Home, 845 Leesburg Rd., Columbia, SC 29209, on Thursday, October 1, 2026. The family will receive guests beginning at 1:00 p.m., with a Celebration of Life at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel.

Following the service, Bobby’s ashes will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Following the interment, the family will return to the funeral home’s social hall to share a meal and continue celebrating Bobby’s life together.

The family welcomes all who knew and loved Bobby to join them in remembering a life filled with family, friendship, laughter, and cherished memories.

Rest in peace, Bobby. You are deeply loved, will be deeply missed, and will be forever remembered.
