Dianne C. Wessinger

Funeral services for Dianne Carr Wessinger, 81, will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 29, 2026, in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Pastor Ken Harmon will officiate. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the funeral home.

Ms. Wessinger went to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, August 20, 2026. Born in Salisbury, NC, she was the daughter of the late James Wesley and Lela King Carr. She graduated from Dreher High School in 1963 and retired in 2010 from BB&T/Boyle-Vaughn Insurance Services. Following her retirement, she worked part-time at the Carolina Coliseum and CMA Financial Services up until her passing.

Ms. Wessinger was a member of Northwood Baptist Church.

Surviving are her daughter, Mary W. Mefford of Lexington; her son, Larry E. Wessinger, Jr. (Christina) of Athens, AL; grandson, Brandon K. Mefford of Lexington; granddaughter, Janie Grace Wessinger of Athens, AL; sister, Sandra Maddox (Joe) of Stockbridge, GA; brother, Wesley Carr (Diana) of Columbia; nephew, David Boyette of Hendersonville, NC; and nieces, Susan Boyette of Greensboro, NC, Ashley Garvin (Thomas) of Columbia, and Blair Wessinger (David) of Columbia, as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews. She was also the beloved MeeMaw to Cameron and Kara Lighthart and Nana to Samantha Ayoub.

Ms. Wessinger was predeceased by her son-in-law, Brian K. Mefford.
