In Loving Memory

(SFC SCANG, Retired) Floyd F. Pritchard, 85, of Columbia, S.C., went home to be with Jesus on June 30, 2025.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Elizabeth Harbort Pritchard, their son Floyd Glen (Jessie), and four grandchildren: Bre, Allie, Nathan, and Natalie, whom he loved dearly. Also surviving is one sister, Minnie Walsh (Bobby), as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Jessie Howard Pritchard and Edith McLeod Pritchard of Eastover, S.C.; two sisters, Eva McCormack and Hazel Taylor; and four brothers, Jesse Donald Pritchard, Dr. Vernon W. Pritchard, Leonard Pritchard, and Rev. Alfred Lee Pritchard. Floyd was the oldest male of the siblings.

In his early years, Mr. Pritchard worked for Pet Dairy and later served full time in the South Carolina Army National Guard (SCANG), retiring in December 1999. After retirement, he worked for Enterprise.

He was an ordained deacon and a member of Temple Baptist Church. He was known for his sense of humor, which he never lost. He even subscribed to Reader’s Digest just to find new jokes to share.

The family would like to thank the staff of the C.M. Tucker, Jr. Center for their wonderful care.

Visitation will be held at Thompson Funeral Home on Thursday, July 3, at 11:00 a.m., followed by a graveside service at Greenlawn Memorial Park at 1:00 p.m.
