Gerda Kasielke Anderson
Mar 5, 1933 — Sep 4, 2025
In Loving Memory
Gerda Kasielke Anderson, 92, of Columbia, South Carolina, passed away on September 4, 2025, at Prisma Richland Heart Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina. She was born on March 5, 1933, in Kassel, Germany, to Hermann Ewald and Anna Karoline (Ebert) Kasielke.
Gerda met and married her husband after the war in Germany. After giving birth to her daughter, she moved to the United States and proudly gained American citizenship. Gerda always worked and excelled at every job she had. She became the manager of the Elks Club in Columbia, SC, after working there for a short time. She had a strong work ethic and made many friends who preceded her in death. She also worked for Grover Richey Realty, Century 21, and finally Russell and Jeffcoat in real estate sales. She earned many trophies for being a Million Dollar Producer and later became a Realtor in the National Association of Realtors.
She loved her family with a passion and always tried to ensure they had everything they needed. Growing up during the war made her tough, but she had a heart of gold. We miss her deeply, but we take comfort in knowing she is now with the Lord and free from pain.
Gerda is survived by her daughter, Sandra Prosser (Angel); grandchildren, Shawn Ewald Anderson, Ariel Nicole Prosser, and Shari Kalina Fox (Chris); great-grandchildren, Hayley Alexis Greer, Savannah Rylan Greer, and Christopher Lee Fox, Jr.; and her nephew, Thomas Kasielke, in Germany.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ewald and Karoline Kasielke; her brother, Gerd Kasielke; her husband, Carl Raymond Anderson; her sons, John Ewald Anderson and Leroy Anderson; and her nephew, Michael Kasielke.
