James M Vinson

James M. Vinson, age 66, of Hopkins, South Carolina, passed away on October 30, 2026.

James was born on November 1, 1959, on the Air Force Base in Florida, to the late Eddie and Sarah L. (Cooper) Vinson.

James will be remembered for the love he gave so freely and the way he made people feel cared for. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and everyone whose life he touched.

James leaves to cherish his fond memories to his brother, David and Sue Vinson, his lifetime partner Geneva Hood, nephew Marcus Vinson, and sister-in-law Alison Vinson. James’s presence in so many lives was meaningful, and we hold those memories close, especially the brother he preceded in love and in spirit, Chuck Vinson.

A memorial service celebrating James’s life will be held at a later date at Thompson Funeral Home, Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209. Additional details regarding the memorial service will be announced at a later date. Following the service the family will receive family and friends at the home 457 Macedonia Church Road Lot #12, Ridgeway, SC 29130.

Though James may be gone from our sight, he will never be forgotten. His memory will live on through the love he shared and the lives he touched.

Forever loved, forever remembered, and never forgotten.
