James "Paul" White
June 1, 1940 — June 5, 2026
James “Paul” White, 86, of Hopkins, gained his eternal wings on June 5th. Born in Columbia on June 1, 1940, to Christine and James White Sr., Paul loved history, politics, and airplanes. He owned a gyrocopter, which he flew as much as he could. He was previously married to Ida Sweat and loved her children as his own, as he never had any children of his own. He previously worked at Westinghouse and Shakespeare.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, and a stepdaughter. He is survived by his daughters, Kay Barrera, Dixie McNair (Danny), and Lynne Craven; and his son, Terry Pritchard (Debbie). He is also survived by his grandchildren: Jack Proulx, Mac McNair, Brandi McNair, Tina Merritt, Paula Brookshire, Caitlin Craven, Haley Craven, Shawn Gregory, and Maighan Lawrence. Additionally, he leaves behind 13 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, his niece, Dawn Christine Mills, and his nephew, James Maxwell White.
The family would like to offer our sincere gratitude to Agape Services for the supportive care they provided during this difficult time, and for all they did to make Paul's end of life as comfortable as possible for him and our family.
Services will be held on Friday, June 12th at 2:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Park. There will only be graveside services, which will include military honors to honor his service in the Navy. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice in his name.
