Obituary for Joye Davis Hanna

Joye Davis Hanna, 85, of Columbia, South Carolina passed away September 19, 2025, at her home in Columbia, South Carolina. She was born on August 31, 1940, in Columbia, South Carolina to the late William A and Belle (Rabon) Davis, Sr.

Joye loved to dance, sing and visit with her family and friends.  She didn't miss a day of work or school for fifty-six years.  Joye was a dedicated employee and a loyal friend.  Joye was a member of Greenlawn Baptist Church and was an active member of Peggy Gainey's Sunday School Class.  She loved her Church family.  

Joye is survived by her sister, Dianne McKay (Ray), several nephews, her surviving aunt, Earlie Mae Davis and many cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Davis, her grandson Christopher Davis and her Brother Billy Davis.  

The family will receive friends at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209 on Monday, September 22, 2025, from 6:00PM until 8:00PM.  Funeral services will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 12:00PM. Interment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park following the chapel service. Memorials may be made to Greenlawn Baptist Church
