Kenneth David Busbee

Kenneth Busbee was born in Lexington, SC to James and Annie Lou Busbee. Kenn was one of nine children and graduated high school and went on to attend Columbia Bible College. He received multiple post graduate degrees in the areas of Christian ministry and education. He began preaching early on and pastored churches all around the state. He also taught middle school science in Richland County for many years. His colorful personality and care for others made him loved by many. He was proud of his Scottish heritage and loved classic cars. He also loved camping with his brothers and spending time with his grandchildren. 

Kenn was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his three oldest siblings, Daisy Barrs, Paul Busbee, and Colie Busbee. 

Kenn is survived by his loving wife, Nancy, as well as his children, Meredith LaBoone (Michael) and Matthew Busbee, and his grandchildren Graham LaBoone, Hailey LaBoone, Adeline LaBoone, and Noelle LaBoone. He is also survived by his siblings Patsy Gartman (Willie), Willard “Butch” Busbee (Nancy), Sylvia Hill (Ronnie), Loretta Chavis, and Keith Busbee (Vanessa) as well as many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews who loved him. 

Services will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2026 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church 5601 Old Leesburg Rd, Hopkins, SC with visitation at 11:00 AM and service at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow.
