The beloved son of the late Edward S. Martin and Margaret Ann (Todd) Martin, Mark was raised with strong family values and a deep appreciation for life. He was the cherished brother of Danny Martin, who survives him. Mark is predeceased by his devoted parents and grandparents, whose memories he held dear.

Mark spent his professional life as the Owner of M&M Painting Company, where his commitment and skill left a lasting impression on both colleagues and clients. His work was not just a job but an expression of his artistic spirit and attention to detail.

Beyond his career, Mark was a man of varied interests and hobbies that brought him immense joy. His love for the beach and travel often took him on adventures, where he found peace and inspiration. Known for his impeccable sense of style, Mark took pride in always being well-dressed and groomed. He also took great joy in listening to various types of good music that he loved.

One of Mark's greatest joys was spending time with his dogs, who were more than pets—they were family. His green thumb was evident in his flourishing garden, where he particularly enjoyed nurturing tomato plants. Football Sundays were dedicated to cheering on the Los Angeles Rams, a tradition that brought him great excitement.

Mark's curiosity knew no bounds, and he was especially fascinated by crime shows like "Dateline," where he enjoyed piecing together mysteries. His passion for outer space and all things NASA or SpaceX fueled a lifelong wonder for the universe.

A man of remarkable strength and independence, Mark faced life's challenges—including cancer and a stroke—with unwavering resolve. After his father's passing, he became one of the caregivers for his mother, a role he embraced with love and dedication.

Mark's visitation will be held on October 20, 2026, at 5:00 pm till 7:00 pm. The Visitation will be held at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park

Graveside service to honor Mark's life will be held on October 21, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Greenlawn Memorial Park, located at 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209. Family, friends, and those whose lives were touched by Mark are invited to celebrate a life well-lived.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association and American Stroke Foundation, in memory of Mark S. Martin, to support their vital work.
