Norma "Nomi" Spivey

Nomi entered her heavenly home on Friday, July 17, 2026. Born June 18, 1942, she was the beloved daughter of John and Annie Bell Nunn.

Her life was a testament to deep Christian faith. She and her husband, Olin, whom she adored, walked in the grace of the Lord and were always active, devoted members of their church. Nomi was also a retired teacher who dedicated 32 years to educating elementary students.

Anyone who knew her would agree that she never met a stranger. She made friends everywhere she went, whether at the grocery store, Walmart, or Lizard’s Thicket. Nomi loved traveling and attending gospel singings, and she often enjoyed getting in her car for a drive with no particular destination in mind.

She was a loving mother to Eddie, Richard (Shawna), and Keith (Sheila); a doting grandmother to Nicole (Josh), Scott (Mary Grace), and Allison (Macon); and a proud great-grandmother to Cersei and Aiden.

While our hearts ache from this temporary separation, we find peace in the promise that we will all be together again one day. Nomi leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and devotion that will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.

Nomi was preceded in death by the love of her life, Olin; her parents; and her brothers, Harry and Marion.

A service to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 a.m. before the service.
