Patricia E. Cafaro

Jun 14, 1934 — Aug 6, 2026

Patricia Eugene Boyce Cafaro, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026, at the age of 92.

Patricia was the heart of her family and was lovingly known as “Mom” to her five children and “Nana” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. But those names reached far beyond family. Anyone who had the privilege of calling her “Mom” or “Nana” knew that they were loved, welcomed, and considered part of her family.

Patricia’s greatest joy was being surrounded by the people she loved. She cherished Sunday dinners with her family and welcomed anyone who wanted to stop by. Her love knew no boundaries. Family friends, extended family, neighbors, and those simply passing through her door were always welcomed with open arms. There were no strangers in Mom’s home, only people she had not yet had the opportunity to love.

Patricia worked as a secretary at A.C. Moore Elementary School and also worked part-time at Kmart at Fort Jackson. She retired in 2001, after which she devoted her time to caring for her beloved husband and being there for the family she treasured so deeply.

Patricia was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Emil Michael Cafaro; her son, Michael; and her grandson, Jacob.

Her greatest legacy is the love she gave so freely and the family she brought together. The memories of her Sunday dinners, her welcoming home, her generous heart, and the unconditional love she showed to so many will remain with her family and all who knew her.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to Amedisys Hospice for the care, kindness, and compassion shown to Patricia and her family during her final days.

She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered as Mom, Nana, and a loving home to so many.
