Patsy "Pat" R. Sigmon

Patsy (Pat) Ruth Sigmon passed from this world on August 6, 2026. Pat Sigmon was born in Glenville, Gilmer County, West Virginia to Audrey Dimple Oxyer and Lewis Napoleon Sigmon. Pat attended early schooling in the area of Youngers Holler and Coal Fork West Virginia, before the family moved to Baltimore, Maryland in the 40’s. Pat graduated Southern High School in Baltimore where she developed a keen interest in singing.

In 1969, Pat was one of the 21 founding and Lifetime Members of the local Elkridge Chorus (now known as the Harbor City Music Company show chorus), an organization of Sweet Adelines International. In April of 1969, the Elkridge Chorus entered its very first Sweet Adelines Regional Competition and they won the award for the Best Small Chorus. In 1970, as regional medalists, the chorus traveled to Wisconsin for their first international contest, and successfully placed in the global Top Ten. Needless to say, Pat was fully involved in supporting and promoting the Elkridge and Harbor City Music Company Chorus, and achieved her 50 year membership card with an onstage presentation of her accomplishments.

Pat was employed as an expediter at the Westinghouse Air Arm Division in Baltimore. She and her mother were employees at Westinghouse and both retired from the company. After Pat retired, she moved south to Columbia, South Carolina to be closer to family.

Pat has been reunited with her parents, Audrey Dimple Oxyer and Lewis Napoleon Sigmon, her beloved son, Mark Wells, and her nephew, Michael Geller.

Pat is survived by her sister, Nellie Lou Geller, and brother, George Sigmon (Sandra), nieces and nephews, Tricia McCraw (Eddie), Kristina McCraw, Andrea Cilluffo (James), Brennan Geller, Tammee Thomas, Brianna Lacy, Taylor Lacy, Acacia Lacy, Kelly Roberts (Tim Chambers), Cora Melton (Dewey T.), Dewey Melton, Catherine Melton, Audrey Villyard (Casey), Joshua Villyard (Rene’e), and Nicolasa Villyard.
