Dr. Redding Ivy Corbett III, a distinguished epidemiologist and educator, passed away on October 2, 2025, at age 80. Born on May 31, 1945, Redding left a lasting legacy in South Carolina through his commitment to public health and education.

Redding earned double master’s degrees (one in Public Health) and a PhD in Epidemiology. For 30 years, he served South Carolina through his service with the Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC), contributing to [disease prevention/public health initiatives], as an adjunct professor at the University of South Carolina and a professor at Midlands Technical College. He inspired students through courses in Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology, and other subjects, sharing his passion for science and learning.

A proud 30-year member of the Sons of the American Revolution, Redding cherished his historical roots. He was a devoted member of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral for 40 years and served as a Eucharistic minister and director, reflecting his deep faith and community dedication.
