Arnold Monroe Davis

Jun 13, 1946 — Aug 28, 2026

Arnold Monroe Davis, 80 years old, passed away on August 28, 2026. He was born June 13, 1946.

Arnold grew up in Blacksburg, South Carolina, until enlisting in the Army at the age of 18. He served overseas in Vietnam. After returning from war, he married Kathy Davis, and they spent nearly 60 years building memories, building businesses, and building a family. He spent many years working as a carpenter. He then followed his dreams of entrepreneurship, leading to numerous successful business ventures, including but not limited to: convenience store owner, clothing store owner, food distribution route owner, real estate agent, and property owner of multiple rental properties.

He was an amazing father to three children and a wonderful grandfather to two grandchildren. He influenced many others throughout his life. He showed his love in acts of service, nurturing, and extreme kindness. He impacted many with teachings of honesty, kindness, and hard work. He taught life lessons, how to ride bicycles, how to check oil, basic carpentry, how to drive, how to treat others, how to love, and many others. The memories that have been shared by many who were affected by his life will always be comforting to his family.

Arnold leaves a legacy of wisdom, kindness, and patience, rarely raising his voice. He listened. His quiet presence commanded an audience when he spoke, sharing wisdom and lessons that would forever influence the recipient. He will be missed by many. His wisdom and life lessons will be passed on to generations to come.

He is survived by Kathy Davis (wife), his children Katherine (Kitty) Larson, Heather Davis-Morris, grandchildren Summerlyn Morris and Journey Morris, siblings Norma Horton and Alton (Beth) Davis, and their children. He was preceded in death by parents W.C. Davis and Beatrice Davis, and son Jason Davis.

The family will receive friends at Thompson Funeral Home on Leesburg Road in Columbia, South Carolina, at 1 PM on September 3, 2026. A graveside service will follow at 2 PM at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
