Barbara "Jean" Wise Davis

Barbara Wise Davis ("Jean"), 91, of West Columbia, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2026.

Born on February 16, 1935, in Lexington, South Carolina, she was the daughter of Horace and Blondell Wise. Jean grew up in West Columbia and graduated from Brookland-Cayce High School in 1953.

Jean was an avid reader who had a tremendous love for flowers, dogs, and music. Above all else, she was a devoted and loving mother whose greatest joy was her family. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. She treasured time spent with those she loved, whether gathering for family celebrations or simply enjoying everyday moments together.

In her later years, her greatest joy was her grandson, Zac. The bond they shared was unmistakable. Her face would light up the moment he walked into the room, and no matter what kind of day she was having, his presence brought her comfort and happiness.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John G. Davis, Jr., and her parents, Horace and Blondell Wise.

She is survived by her daughter, Pam Davis (Robin); her grandson, Zachary Davis; her sister, Helen Goodman (Ray); and her nephew, Terry Goodman.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 18, at 2:00 p.m. at Southland Memorial Gardens, 700 W. Dunbar Road, West Columbia, South Carolina.
