Cynthia R. Camp
Nov 9, 1956 — Sep 10, 2026
Cynthia “Cindy” Camp, 69, of Lexington, SC, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, September 10, 2026, after a courageous battle with uterine cancer. She was born on November 9, 1956, in Columbia, SC.
Cindy married her one and only, Danny, on August 16, 1975. Their marriage was one of faith and service. They saw it as their duty, through their faith, to help whoever they could, however they could—whether through their time, resources, or prayers.
Cindy lived with a heart of service. She continually sought ways to show God’s love to those around her. When she found a need, it fed her spirit to find a way to meet it. Often, those needs were met through her own time, effort, and resources.
God blessed Cindy and Danny with their daughter, Danielle, who was one of Cindy’s greatest blessings. Throughout her illness, she praised God for His goodness and sought comfort in His Word.
Cindy was happiest when surrounded by family. Her grandchildren were her world. “Nona” was her favorite title, and being their most enthusiastic cheerleader became one of her greatest joys.
She was a beloved wife, mother, Nona, sister, aunt, and friend.
She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Danielle Camp-Spears (Jason) of Lexington, SC; grandchildren, Kenley-Grace, Mason, Declan, and Evelinn; sisters, Beverly Bell (Ernie) of Columbia, SC; Barbara Freeman (Jack) of Sandy Run, SC; Gail Wright of Gilbert, SC; Roxanne Martin (Steve) of West Columbia, SC; Kathy Shady (Stan) of Red Bank, SC; and brother, Kendall (Kenny) Crawford (Teresa) of Lexington, SC; as well as 22 nieces and nephews and 39 great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Kendall Crawford and Deloris Avon Crawford, and her husband, Danny Camp.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Lexington, 415 Barr Road, Lexington, SC 29072, with the Rev. Ralph Schneck officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at Thompson Funeral Home in Lexington.
Memorials may be made to SCOA Cares Foundation, 166 Stoneridge Drive, Columbia, SC 29210.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Williams of South Carolina Oncology Associates for the exceptional medical care he provided throughout Cindy’s illness.
