Jacqueline C. Sox

Jan 17, 1933 — Aug 22, 2026

Jacqueline “Jackie” Courtney Sox, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2026, at the age of 93.

Born January 17, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Jack Courtney and Lavenia Courtney Neeley. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert “Hugh” Sox.

Jackie devoted her life to her family, whom she cherished more than anything. Together with her husband and their children, she was a part owner of the family business, Sox and Sons Construction Company. Her family was not only her greatest joy, but also the center of her life.

She is survived by her four children: Nancy Sox Peters (the late Frank), Hughette Sox Peeples (the late Ronnie), Robert Joe Sox, and Jack A. Sox (Lilli); six grandchildren, Robert N. Peeples, Trent (Tessa) Jeffcoat, Chris (Maggie) Peeples, Andrew (Christy) Peters, Courtney Sox, and Jackson Sox; and five great-grandchildren. She leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews, whom she loved very much.

Jackie was preceded in death by her dear sisters and brothers-in-law: Sara (James) Quinton, Carol (Norman) Lowman, Patsy (Lawrence) Roland, Vermel (Levi) Wheeler, and sister-in-law, Dorothy (Ray) Cook.

Jackie was a kind, generous, and deeply caring woman who was loved and respected by all who knew her. She gave generously to others and made a real difference in the lives of the people around her. Her greatest legacy will be the love she gave to her family and the countless lives she touched through her kindness, generosity, and compassion.

In her final days, Jackie was blessed to be surrounded by loving caregivers who cared for her with great tenderness and devotion. The family is especially grateful for the wonderful care provided by Tami, Jami, Melodi and Natasha, as well as by a dear family friend and friend of Joe’s, Kristi Wright, who was especially kind and helpful to Jackie. Loving care was also provided by Your Health Palliative and Hospice. Their compassion and support helped make her final days peaceful and comfortable.

She will be dearly missed, but her family takes comfort in knowing that her love, her example, and the memories she created will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
