Margaret A. Herring

September 2, 1936 — May 19, 2026

Margaret Guyton Herring, age 89, passed away peacefully. She was born on September 2, 1936, to Lillie and Bill Guyton in Conway, South Carolina, Her family worked the family farm mainly growing tobacco. From a young age, Margaret was raised to love God, work hard, and value family above all else. 

Margaret had a deep love for music and enjoyed singing and playing guitar in a local bluegrass band. On May 11, 1956, she married Billy Joe Herring. Together they built a life centered on hard work, and devotion to their children. 

Margaret and Billy first lived in the Waccamaw Swamp area before eventually moving their growing family to Hanahan, South Carolina, after the birth of their fourth child. Through determination and sacrifice, Margaret worked alongside her husband to provide a better life for their children and to instill in them a strong work ethic, and the importance of family. She worked to instilled self-reliance, education, and strength of character in all of her children. 

She loved gardening, bluegrass music, and spending time with those she loved most. Margaret always wanted the very best for her family and worked tirelessly throughout her life to care for and support them. She made sure her children knew who God was and taught them the importance of His word. 

Margaret is survived by her son, Larry Herring (Donna); daughters, Cathy Kaiser (Allen) and Lynn Falin (Beau); as well as many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Herring, and her daughters, Lila Ann Gunter and Jessica Amanda Herring. 

Her family will forever remember her strength, resilience, love, and unwavering dedication to those she cherished most.
