Marion "Snuffy" Lee Goodwin

Marion "Snuffy" Lee Goodwin, age 83, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 3, 2026, surrounded by the love of his three girls: his daughters, Lisa and Dava, and their mother, Delores. He was born on March 21, 1943, at Baptist Hospital in Columbia. He remained a proud, lifelong native of Cayce, South Carolina, where he graduated from Brookland-Cayce High School and went on to proudly serve his country as a six-year veteran of the United States Navy.

Following his military service, he became an extremely successful salesman for NAPA Auto Parts. He dedicated 35 years of hard work to the company, even winning one of NAPA's most prestigious awards for selling over a million dollars-worth of auto parts in a single year. Outside of work, Snuffy loved the outdoors and working with his hands. His favorite hobbies included hunting with his buddies and fishing with friends and family. He was also a talented handyman who spent countless hours fixing things and working in his shop.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harrison Lee Goodwin and Alma Rabon Goodwin. He is survived by his two daughters, Lisa Rainey (Rip Rainey) and Dava Zigila (Scott Zigila), and their mother Dolores Goodwin; his two grandsons, Tripp Rainey III and Reid Rainey; his beloved granddaughter dog, Shadow Jung; his loving aunt Bernice and her children, Scottie and Kelly; and his faithful cousin Jenny and her children, Leon and Presley.

Services will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026 at Thompson Funeral Home (4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, South Carolina 29073). A viewing and visitation will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., followed immediately by a chapel service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. After the chapel service, a burial service with military honors will follow from 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Fort Jackson National Cemetery (4170 Percival Road, Columbia, South Carolina 29229).

Snuffy was a Christian man who believed in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and neighbors. Flowers may be sent to Thompson Funeral Home.
