Martha A. Barrs

Aug 21, 1937 — Oct 12, 2026

Martha A. Barrs, 89, entered her heavenly home on October 12, 2026. Born to the late George Elmer Anderson and Martha Della Anderson, Martha lived a life rooted in faith, family, and love.

Martha was the devoted wife of the late Vellius B. Barrs, Jr. Together they shared 64 years of marriage, building a strong and loving family. She was a dedicated mother to her son, Mark Timothy Barrs (Marchelle), and her daughter, Marsha Scott (Keith). She was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Elmer Anderson.

A faithful member of Edmund First Baptist Church, Martha's relationship with the Lord was central to her life. She cherished her church family and found great joy in serving and worshiping alongside them. Her unwavering faith was a source of strength and inspiration to all who knew her.

Martha devoted her life to caring for her family as a homemaker and mother. She was an avid Clemson Tigers fan and enjoyed spending her free time crocheting and creating crafts. Whether cheering on her favorite team or working on a handmade project, she brought warmth, creativity, and kindness to those around her. Above all, Martha treasured her family and her faith, which remained her greatest joys throughout her life.

The family extends their sincere gratitude to the compassionate staff of Lexington Extended Care Center – Crews Pointe and MSA Hospice for the exceptional care and support they provided to Mrs. Barrs during her final days.
