Norma H. Smith
August 31, 1935 — May 7, 2026
Norma H. Smith (“Sudie”), 90, of Lexington, South Carolina, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2026. She was born August 31, 1935 to the late Katie Martin Hook and Leath O’burl Hook.
As the oldest living member of Eau Claire Presbyterian Church, Sudie served faithfully for 60 plus years in various roles, to include Sunday School teacher, Circle Chair, Choir Member, and WIC President.
Sudie, along with her husband, was instrumental in organizing the Lexington County Softball Recreation Girls Softball League where they coached for over 30 years. In most recent years, Sudie was known as a master jigsaw puzzler and enjoyed casino adventures with family.
Sudie is survived by daughter, Leatha (Don) Goodwill and Krista Smith; Sister Ellen Andrews; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
The family will have a visitation at Eau Claire Presbyterian Church, 629 Wildwood Ave. Columbia, SC 29203 on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 starting at 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with Funeral Services starting immediately afterwards at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Ridge Haven – 215 Ridge Haven Rd. Brevard, NC 28712 & Eau Claire Presbyterian Church 629 Wildwood Ave. Columbia, SC 29203.
