Rebecca Leigh Reid (Sharpe)
August 28, 2001 — March 23, 2026
Rebecca Leigh Reid (Sharpe), wife of William “Liam” Hartley Reid of West Columbia, went to her heavenly home March 23, 2026.
Leigh lived life on her own terms. She never let her battle with cancer rule her life. She was a River Bluff High School graduate, attended the College of Charleston and graduated with an associate’s degree from Midlands Tech before becoming a certified dental assistant with Singh Pediatric Dental in Lexington. Leigh loved spending time with her friends and family, hanging out by a pool or at the beach. She loved to travel, listen to music, and binge watch junk tv or a good true crime documentary. Leigh loved her fur babies, Maggie, George, Ozzy, Sophie, Halsey, and Blanche. She loved to be outside in the sun tanning, Trivia nights with friends, holiday parties and Carolina tailgating. Leigh loved (and often spoke) fiercely, and once earned, her loyalty was steadfast and unwavering. To mourn her passing is equal parts immeasurable grief at the loss of such an amazing wife, daughter, and friend, and joy at the endless happy memories she made with everyone lucky enough to love and be loved by her.
Leigh is survived by her husband, William “Liam” Hartley Reid; parents, James Timothy Sharpe and Rebecca Henderson Sharpe; brother, J. William Sharpe; Griffin/ Talie Reid, brother and sister-in-law; Wallace Reid, brother in law; mother and father-in-law, Keith and Marcie Reid; grandparents, Hugh Henderson, Jr. and Deneen F. Henderson; aunts, uncles and cousins.
Leigh was predeceased by grandparents, James William Sharpe and Carolyn B. Sharpe.
The family would like to thank Dr. Stuart Cramer and his team for always listening and believing in Leigh’s intuition when it came to her health and the Hands of Hope hospice nurses, Amber and Marian, for the tender and respectful care given.
