William F. Hoover
Oct 4, 1941 — Sep 3, 2026
In Loving Memory of William “Willie” Hoover.
Willie, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 3rd, 2026 at the age of 84.
He will be remembered for his kind heart, strong character, wisdom, and unwavering love for his family. For more than 50 years, he shared his life with his beloved wife, Pat. Their enduring love and devotion to one another were an inspiration to everyone who knew them.
He was a hardworking and dedicated man who took great pride in his work and in providing for his family. He was the proud owner of Columbia Dental Lab #2, where he built a life and career through years of commitment and determination.
Outside of work, he found some of his greatest happiness in the outdoors. He loved hunting and fishing, enjoying the peace of being outside and the time spent pursuing the things he loved. These passions were more than hobbies—they were opportunities to make memories, share stories, and enjoy life.
As a grandfather, he was a treasured part of his grandchildren’s lives. His stories, advice, laughter, and the memories they shared with him will be cherished forever. The values he lived by and the love he gave so freely will continue to live on through his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Pat Hoover; his son, Billy Horton, and daughter-in-law, Angi Horton; his granddaughter, Brianna Shealy, her husband Matt Shealy, and their daughter, Palmer; granddaughter Kendal Horton; his son, Kevin Hoover; granddaughter Lyndsey Hoover, her partner Luke Sullivan, and their daughter, Isla; and granddaughter Shellie Mosley, her husband Matthew Mosley, and their son, Jett.
He is also survived by his brothers, Punky Hoover and Richard Hoover; his niece, Jennifer Hoover; his nephew, Randy Wolfe; his cousins, Eddie Wolfe and Doris Yarborough; and Josh Banar, who was considered both a son and a dear friend.
Though his absence leaves an immeasurable hole in the hearts of those who loved him, his memory will remain a source of comfort and strength. His life was defined by family, love, hard work, and the simple joys that made life meaningful.
He was deeply loved, will be profoundly missed, and will never be forgotten.
In honor of Willie’s deep love for animals, the family kindly asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in his name to Final Victory Animal Rescue or For The Love of Street Dogs.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026 from 3-4PM at Thompson Funeral Home, 4720 Augusta Rd, Lexington, SC, with a visitation one hour prior from 2-3PM. In keeping with Willie’s laid-back spirit, guests are kindly asked to wear casual attire—a nice T-shirt, polo, or whatever you feel comfortable wearing—as we come together to celebrate his life.
