Willie Roscoe Asbill

Willie "Buddy" Roscoe Asbill, 90, of Lexington County, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on August 22, 2026.

Buddy was born in Lexington, SC, on April 3, 1936, to the late Henry Stanley Asbill and Eula Mae Wood. Buddy grew up in Lexington County and attended Columbia High School. He later retired from Fairmont-Tamper (Harsco).

Buddy enjoyed hunting and fishing, cherishing his time in the woods and on the water with his family and friends. If he wasn’t working, he was hunting or fishing. He passed along his passion for the outdoors to his children and grandchildren. When he wasn’t working, hunting, or fishing, he loved watching Braves baseball.

Buddy is survived by his sons, Jerry Asbill (Connie) and David Asbill (Amy); and stepdaughters, Patricia (Patty) Rosprim, Peggy Sanders, and Pam Steele (Mike). He also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Roxie Lamona Asbill; son, Jimmy Asbill; and great-grandson, Curtis Solomon.

Pallbearers will be Terry Hildebrand, Terry Hildebrand II, Russell Solomon, Joshua Lane, Donald Lane, and Jonathan Taylor.

The family would like to thank the Amedisys Hospice agency, especially Sue, Sheila, and Karen, for their exceptional care and support.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
