Youvnee "Chip" W. Hooker, Sr.

Youvnee W. Hooker Sr. “Chip”, 100, of West Columbia, SC, passed away on October 12, 2026. He was born on February 21, 1926 in Swansea, SC to Marie Blanche Wilson and Altie Webster Hooker.

Chip Hooker was a proud veteran who honorably served in the US Navy during World War II and the Korean War. Following his military service he pursued his passion for plumbing by owning and operating his own plumbing business called Hooker Plumbing. In his free time, Chip enjoyed woodworking. A hobby that allowed him to express his creativity and craftsmanship.

Youvnee Hooker is survived by three grandchildren, Melanie Hooker Bell (Tony), Marc Hooker (Tiffany), and Madison Hooker; six great grandchildren, Matthew (Flora), Mitchell, Mallory, Morgan (Josiah), Landon, Marianne; two great great grandchildren, Anthony and Alexander Bell.

He was preceded in death by Rose Ann Hooker - his loving wife, and his son, Bob Hooker.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, October 16, 2026 at 11:00am at Thompson Funeral Home in Lexington. A graveside service will follow at Mt. Hebron Methodist church.

Chip was loved by all who knew him. His wonderful sense humor and ability to make everyone laugh brought joy to those around him. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
