Albert E. Wangenstein, Jr.

Albert Wangenstein, born on September 3, 1941, in Manhattan, New York, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Albert proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army. He dedicated 33 years of Teamster service to L.J. Kennedy trucking until his retirement in 2001.

He was the beloved son of the late Albert E. Wangenstein Sr. and Mary Ellen Smith Wangenstein. Albert was predeceased by his first wife, Virginia, the mother of his children, and his second wife, Anne. He was also predeceased by his siblings: Barbara, Mary, Edward, Isabelle, George, Henrietta, Elaine, Donna, Linda, Susie, and Willy.

Albert is survived by his loving children: Ellen (James), Billy (AnnMarie), and Tommy (Bonni). He was a proud grandfather to Samantha (Joe), Alyssa, Billy Jr. (Cassidy), Heather, and Emily, and a cherished great-grandfather to Gianna, Joey, Julianna, and Arianna.

He is also survived by his stepchildren: Mary (Tom), Joanne (John), Jeannie (Chris), Michael (Eileen), and Patrick (Andrea). He was predeceased by his stepson, James John.

Albert will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, and the love he shared with all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and devotion that will live on through his family.

Visitation will be held on Thursday May 7th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at T.J. McGowan Sons Funeral Home in Garnerville, NY.

Friday at 11:00 AM Saint Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church followed by Burial at Gethsemane Cemetery.
