Gerald (Jerry) J. Klein Sr., age 91, beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great‑grandfather, uncle, and friend to countless others, passed peacefully into heaven on August 22, 2026.

Jerry was predeceased by his wife, Theresa “Tessie,” the love of his life. Married on October 7, 1956, they shared nearly 70 beautiful years together — a lifetime built on devotion, partnership, and joy.

In 1957, Jerry enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served for two years as a Private First Class. After beginning his working life at the Grand Union, he opened his own delicatessen with his childhood friend, Red Schuler. He later dedicated more than six decades to the insurance business, spending most of those years managing his own successful agency.

Jerry and Tessie truly knew how to enjoy life. They cherished their many vacations and cruises, their yearly trips to Cape May for more than 20 years, and countless weekends in Atlantic City. Jerry also loved the simple pleasures — going out to lunch, enjoying a glass of wine or a vodka on the rocks, and listening to the timeless classics of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Nat King Cole.

He had a remarkable way of staying engaged with the world and savoring every day. Above all, Jerry treasured his family. His greatest joy was being surrounded by the people he loved — sharing stories, laughter, meals, music, and memories that will remain with his family forever.

Jerry is survived by his three children: Jerry Jr. (Donna) of Greensboro, GA; Peter (Michael) of New York City; and Joann Kasamis (Dino) of Garnerville. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Jerry III (Kate) Klein of Wilton, CT; Brittany Swim (Austin) of Kennett Square, PA; Nick Kasamis of Garnerville, NY; and Stephen (Ali) Kasamis of West Harrison, NY; and his great‑grandchildren, Jerry Klein IV and Lucas Swim. He is survived as well by his sister, Linda Fischer. He was predeceased by his brother, Bob.

Jerry will be remembered for his love of family, his devotion to Tessie, his strong work ethic, his friendships, his appreciation for the good things in life, and the many lives he touched throughout his 91 years. He lived fully, loved deeply, worked hard, enjoyed himself, and created countless memories along the way.

May we honor Jerry by remembering him with a good meal, a favorite song, a glass raised in his honor, and by continuing to enjoy life as much as he always did.
